4 Questions to Ask Yourself When Buying Reading Sunglasses
Tips for Buying Reading Glasses or Eyeglass Frames Online
Not all glasses are created equal. You can pretty much purchase them anywhere, and find them in various price ranges ranging from cheap to moderate to expensive. Knowing the right questions to ask when it’s time to buy, is one of the best ways to ensure you’re purchasing a pair worth having. Next time you want to pick up some sun readers or eyeglass frames, ask yourself these important questions to ensure you’re buying the best pair for you.
Keep Power Levels the Same
If you are purchasing sunglass readers, like our Finley neck-hanging sun readers (shown above), get the same power level that your reading glasses have. If you’re not sure of the exact power, check with your optometrist, or check out our reading glasses power chart to get your power level or see if your power level has changed.
Choose the Best Style
What’s better for you, sunglass readers or bifocal sunglasses? Reading sunglasses have a prescription around the entire lens for complete magnification. However, your eyes won’t be protected from the sun if you have to look over your glasses. Bifocals only magnify a small area of the lens towards the bottom, while the top portion of the sunglasses have no prescription. Our Holly Bifocal Sunglasses (shown above) are a great example! This gives you the ability to look at nearby and far-away objects while your eyes remain protected from the sun.
Polarized Sunglasses
Will you need polarized sunglasses? Polarized lenses reduce the glare off water or other reflective surfaces, like an iPad or smartphone. If you love hanging out at the beach or lake, enjoy boating or other water-related activities, these are a smart buy. Our bright and colorful Juno Sunglasses (shown above) are a great choice for fun-in-the-sun activities!
Pick the Right Frame
Which frame style fits you the best? The weight of your glasses should be evenly distributed across your face and fit securely on top of your nose. The best fitted glasses also won’t slide or pinch you, and your eyelashes should not touch the lens.
